The Cabbage Soup Diet

Being overweight is a problem for many people and with that they will try to find any mean possible to drop that weight. However, people don't always consider how damaging a diet might be; all they are concerned about is getting rid of those extra pounds.

A good way to lose weight efficiently is the cabbage soup diet. It is low in fat and high in fiber content to help one shed excess weight. One has to follow the cabbage soup diet for seven days and no more than that. One requirement which one has to adhere to when adopting this diet is to drink lots of water.

While doing the cabbage soup diet you can also take multivitamin tablets. You must have as much soup as you want and don?t make yourself starve else you would get tempted to break the diet. You can add different spices to make your soup more interesting and appetizing.

As the name suggest, the cabbage soup diet contains cabbage, onion and tomatoes. This combination helps us to lose weight because of the high fiber content .This makes our body burn body fats for energy instead. Add pepper, garlic powder, salt, or any desired spices to make the soup more delicious. Chicken broth or vegetable stock can even be added. So on the first day of this plan, you will have cabbage soup and fruits except banana. You can also have tea but without the sugar.

The second day menu consists of cabbage soup, vegetable and a single baked potato. It is up to you if you wish to add spices and onion to the baked potato. However try to abstain from taking dry beans, Corn and peas.

For the third day of the cabbage soup diet, in addition to soup, you can have vegetable and fruits as well. For the fourth day, apart from soup, you can have milk and banana. The fifth day menu consists of fish or meat, tomatoes and soup. For the sixth day, soup, meat and leafy green vegetables are on the menu.

On the last day of your cabbage soup diet you can have soup, rice, fruit juice and vegetables. During you diet you can?t have bread, alcohol, carbonated beverages or even diet soda. What you can have is black coffee, black tea, unsweetened fruit juice, cranberry juice and skimmed milk. By following this diet you can easily loose 10 to 15 pounds in a week.

The healthiest way to do this diet is to follow it for a week and then take a minimum break of one week and if you wish you can start your diet again. The cabbage soup diet is surely a successful and quick way to loose the unwanted fat.
